Christopher Meloni to Star in WGN America's Slave Drama UNDERGROUND

WGN america has tapped Christopher Meloni to star in their latest series, UNDERGROUND.

The show, which is going straight-to-series, also features FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS alumni Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Aldis Hodge (Rectify), as well as Jessica De Gouw (Arrow, Dracula). UNDERGROUND is set for 10 episodes, with Anthony Hemingway (The Wire, Treme) set to direct the initial two.

Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor. He is best known for his television roles as NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler on the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and as inmate Chris Keller on the HBO prison drama Oz. In June 2012, he returned to HBO, as the vampire Roman on the main cast of TRUE BLOOD for the series' fifth season.

His most well known films where he played notable roles are Man of Steel, Wet Hot American Summer, 12 Monkeys, RUNAWAY Bride and 42.
