CBS's 48 HOURS Was Saturday's No. 1 Program in Households & Viewers

CBS News's 48 HOURS: "The Preacher's Passion" was Saturday's #1 program in households and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 20, 2012. 48 HOURS (10:00-11:00 PM) was first in households (3.9/07) and viewers (5.50m).

Compared to last week, 48 HOURS was up +8% in households (from 3.6/06), +7% in adults 25-54 (1.5/04 from 1.4/04), even in adults 18-49 (1.0/03) and added +530,000 viewers (from 4.97m, +11%). 48 HOURS posted its best delivery in households, viewers and adults 25-54 since May 12, 2012.

Saturday's broadcast featured Maureen Maher and the 48 HOURS team's report on the death of actress Felicia Tang and the subsequent investigation and trial of her preacher boyfriend BrIan Randone. The broadcast included interviews with Randone, his parents, police investigators, Tang's friends and two of the jurors who decided Randone's fate.

48 HOURS: "The Preacher's Passion" is produced by Chuck Stevenson and Greg Fisher. Sarah Prior is the field producer. Alan Miller, Joan Adelman and Robert Orozovich are the editors. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.

"The Preacher's Passion" is part of 48 HOURS' 25th full season. It's the third-longest-running primetime series and has been the #1 non-sports program on Saturday nights for six consecutive seasons.
