CBS Wins Weekly Ratings in All Key Categories

CBS placed first in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the third time in the last four weeks and moved to within one-tenth of a rating point of NBC in adults 18-49, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 19.

Season-to-date through Week 30, CBS has narrowed the gap to just a one-tenth of a rating point difference with NBC (2.4 vs. 2.5) in adults 18-49 while widening its lead among viewers to a +2.5 million advantage (11.40m vs. 8.90m) and +0.2 among adults 25-54 (3.3 vs. 3.1). For the season, CBS is up +5% in viewers and even in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

For the week, CBS had seven of the top 10 programs in viewers, led by the #1 program of the week, THE 50TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, which delivered its largest audience since 1998.

Among adults 18-49, CBS had 12 of the top 20 programs, more than any all the other networks combined, with THE BIG BANG THEORY (3.9/15) and THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS (3.6/11) ranking first and second.

THE 50TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

· THE 50TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS (S) (8:00-11:24 PM) averaged 15.98m viewers, 4.7/12 in adults 25-54, 3.6/11 in adults 18-49, 2.6/10 in adults 18-34, winning every half-hour in these measures from 8:00-11:00 PM. Compared to last year's event (from 8:00-11:02 PM on April 6), THE ACM AWARDS was up +9% in adults 25-54 (from 4.3/10), +6% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/09), +4% in adults 18-34 (from 2.5/08) and added +1.66m viewers (from 14.32m viewers, +12%), posting its largest audience since 1998.


· From 8:00-11:00 PM, THE ACM AWARDS was first in viewers (16.28m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12), adults 18-49 (3.7/11) and adults 18-34 (2.7/10). Compared to last year's broadcast, the 8:00-11:00 PM portion was up +9% in adults 18-49, +12% in adults 25-54, +8% in adults 18-34 and added +1.96m viewers (+14%).


NCIS
· NCIS was Tuesday's #1 program in viewers (15.84m) and the top scripted program in adults 18-49 (2.0/07) and adults 25-54 (2.9/09).


SURVIVOR
· SURVIVOR (9.57m) was Wednesday's top program in adults 18-49 (2.2/08) and adults 25-54 (3.0/09).


THE BIG BANG THEORY
· THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in viewers (14.82m), adults 25-54 (5.3/17) and adults 18-49 (3.9/15). THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 5.1/16), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 3.5/13), added +40,000 viewers (from 14.78m) from last week and was Thursday's #1 program in all key measures.

MOM
· MOM was first in viewers (9.60m) and adults 25-54 (3.2/09) and was second in adults 18-49 (2.2/07). MOM was up +7% in adults 25-54 (from 3.0/08), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.0/06) and added +570,000 viewers (from 9.03m, +6%) from last week.
