CBS EVENING NEWS is Only Network Evening News to Grow in Key Adults 25-54 for July Sweep

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to grow in the key adults 25-54 demographic (+8%, 1.3/06 from 1.2/05) for the July 2016 Sweep, according to Nielsen most current ratings.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted its best July Sweep delivery in adults 25-54 in three years (since July 2013). CBS is in its closest competitive position with ABC in adults 25-54 for a July Sweep in at least 22 years (since at least the July 1994 Sweep, which marks the start of CBS electronic sweep records). CBS was just 0.1 ratings point of ABC in adults 25-54 for the July 2016 Sweep.

Last Thursday, CBS tied ABC in adults 25-54 (1.2/05) and came within 0.1 ratings point of NBC (1.3/06), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.

Television year-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to add viewers (+1%, 7.15m from 7.06m) compared to last year. Television year-to-date, NBC is down -2% in viewers (8.60m from 8.74m) while ABC saw no viewer growth (8.42m).
