CBS EVENING NEWS Posts Largest Year-to-Year Increases in Adults 25-54

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted the largest year-to-year increases in adults 25-54 (+17%, 1.4/06 from 1.2/05) and viewers (+5%, 7.06m from 6.74m) among the network evening news broadcasts, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 25.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY added +320,000 viewers and closed the viewership gap with ABC by 710,000 viewers and with NBC by 300,000 viewers compared to last year.

For first quarter 2016, according to Nielsen most current ratings, the CBS EVENING NEWS was the only network evening news broadcast to post gains in adults 25-54 (+7%, 1.6/06 from 1.5/06) compared to first quarter 2015. This marks the closest CBS has been to NBC in adults 25-54 in a first quarter in 21 years (since first quarter 1995).

The CBS EVENING NEWS ratings for the week ending March 29 and the year-ago comparison represent a three-day average (Monday-Wednesday) due to NCAA BASKETBALL on Thursday and Friday.
