Tonight Jax and I got suited up for our final ride together. Seven seasons of Mayhem Madness, and despite my severe snark and overall feeling that this was not its best season, I will miss this show. I will also miss Opie (Ryan Hurst), who they threw a quick reminder of before the opening credits ran.

While a new pornographic masterpiece was being filmed outside of the meeting room, SAMCRO voted in their first Black member, T.O. (Michael Beach). On the last episode. Let us not sneer at this momentous occasion though. We can't forget the fear in Juice's eyes when he though the Feds were going to reveal his half Black origin. Though not always overtly racist, the club's membership had always been on the lighter side of things. This particular plot point marks a positive step in the future of the club, regardless of whether we see it played out over an eighth season.

Jax explained to Chibs the art of being a leader, and how one earns respect. You've got to make the tough decisions, you see, even when it hurts.

Jax wanted Nero to handle some legal business for him. He wanted to give Wendy his property to sell so she could set herself up with the boys somewhere outside of Charming. "I did what I know how to do," he replied when Nero asked-without-asking if he had killed Gemma. It might be interesting to take a step back and watch the Jax of earlier seasons; the Jax who wrote in journals, had questions about what it meant to be a "good man," contemplated his late father. That was a Jax who was more than a pretty-yet-gritty blond with a gun (or a knife, or a giant fork; depending on the situation). I wanted to roll my eyes at the statement "I did what I know how to do," but it's probably the truest statement ever said on this show.

Jax tried to bribe Abel into calling Wendy "Mommy." Candy in exchange for affection; Parenting 101. He became visibly emotional as he said goodbye to the boys, and prepared send them off with Wendy and Nero to the farm. Since Wendy thought this was just a mini vacay, she was pretty confused. Granted, Wendy is often pretty confused. That's what happens when you think to ask questions, accept non-answers, and never follow up. Instead of telling her what was going on, Jax just told her that he loved her. These are all things that you say and do after you sleep with someone who's been obsessed with you for years despite your severing ties; you saddle her with two kids (though one is technically hers anyway), and don't tell her that your end is near.

Sheriff Jarry told Chibs that their romantic whatever-that-was was over, and Chibs got a little scary; telling her that cops who end up on the wrong side ended up dead. It was the worst "don't leave me, girl" speech ever made. I STILL LOVE YOU, CHIBS. In all honesty though, I'd forgotten they were still...doing whatever they'd been doing anyway.

Jax informed District Attorney Patterson (CCH Pounder) that it was his mother who killed Tara, and Juice who killed Roosevelt. He told her that Gemma was with Unser in Oregon, and gave her the address. We all winked at the screen because they're DEAD. Enjoy that surprise, Coppers.

A SAMCRO meeting was held and it was voted that Jax Teller would meet "Mister Mayhem." In the meantime, he went nuts and just started shooting people; cleaning up shop, if you will.

Jax made Chibs President; Chibs made Tig VP. And just when you thought they'd shoot him and end this thing the way it was implied, his nearest and dearest SAMCRO brothers set it up so it seemed like there was a struggle and he escaped. An APB was released, a high speed chase ensued, a crow flew off into the distance. There was only one other way Jax Teller could've gone out; like father like son. Though the implementation was a little on the hokey side, the final moment was worth it.

Seven seasons, seven years; much Mayhem and even more Anarchy. It's Redwood ORIGINAL. Never forget.
