Deadline.com reports that Amy Ryan has joined the cast of HBO's 'In Treatment' for its upcoming third season. She will be replacing Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest as a new therapist for Dr. Paul Weston. A season premiere date has not been announced. Ryan was previously seen on HBO in 'The Wire.'

'In Treatment,' adapted from an Israeli series, centers on Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne), a psychoanalyst who sees patients four days per week before commuting home for a weekly therapy session of his own. The second season of 'In Treatment' also featured Tony Award nominees Hope Davis and Alison Pill.

Amy Ryan was nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for her role in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. That production marked Ryan's return to the Roundabout Theatre Company, where she received a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performance in UNCLE VANYA in 2000. Her other stage credits include THE WOMEN, THREE SISTERS, THE DISTANCE FROM HERE, SAVED, CRIMES OF THE HEART, AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN, IMAGINING BRAD, THE RIMERS OF ELDRITCH, and the 2004 Kennedy Center production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.
