ABC's BACHELOR IN PARADISE Boosts Its Slot by 78% in Adults 18-49

During the week of August 31, 2015, ABC finished a strong second in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4), including 8 of the Top 20 broadcast shows with the 10th season premiere of "Saturday Night Football" ranking No. 1: "Saturday Night Football" - No. 1, "Bachelor in Paradise"-MON - No. 8, "Modern Family"-R - No. 11, "Bachelor in Paradise"-SUN - No. 16, while "Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise," "black-ish"-R, "Shark Tank"-SP 9/4-R and "Shark Tank"-R tied at No. 18.

The Net surged week to week in viewers (+21%) and young adults (+38%), hitting 7-week highs on both counts - since w/o 7/13/15. ABC was also the only broadcaster up over the same week last year in Total Viewers (+17% - 4.1 million vs. 3.5 million) or Adults 18-49 (+22% - 1.1/4 vs. 0.9/3).

ABC ranked No. 1 for Summer 2015 (Memorial Day-Labor Day) in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5-tied w/NBC) and was the only broadcaster up year to year (+8%).

Monday
ABC took second place on Monday in Adults18-49 (1.0/4) among the broadcasters. "Bachelor in Paradise" was Monday's No. 2 broadcast TV show in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5) while ranking No. 1 across the key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-9:02 p.m. - 5.2 million and 1.5/6 in AD18-49):
At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" took second its hour in Total Viewers (5.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.5/5) among the broadcast networks, and won the slot among Adults 18-34 and across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). Coming off the prior week's Adult 18-49 series high, "Bachelor in Paradise" equaled the show's 2nd-highest number ever.

For the 3rd-straight week, "Bachelor in Paradise" topped its year-ago 2-hour Monday telecast (5.0 million and 1.3/4 on 9/1/14) with Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+15%).

"Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise" (9:02-10:01 p.m. - 3.7 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):
In the 9:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise" defeated Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" for the 3rd week in a row with Total Viewers (+32% - 3.7 million vs. 2.8 million) and beat the FOX show for the 2nd-straight week in Adults 18-49 (+25% - 1.0/3 vs. 0.8/3).

"After Paradise" held steady week to week at a series best in Adults 18-49.

"The Whispers" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 2.8 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):
In the 10 o'clock hour, the season finale of ABC's "The Whispers" was up for the 2nd week in Total Viewers (+4% - 2.8 million vs. 2.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (+17% - 0.7/2 vs. 0.6/2) to deliver 4-week highs on both measures - since 8/3/15.

Wednesday
"Celebrity Wife Swap" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 2.9 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
ABC's season finale of "Celebrity Wife Swap" grew week to week in Total Viewers (+7% - 2.9 million vs. 2.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (+29% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.7/3), earning its most watched telecast in 4 weeks and matching a 12-week high among young adults - since 8/5/15 and 6/10/15, respectively.

Thursday
"Mistresses" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 2.7 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49):
At 9:00 p.m., the season finale of "Mistresses" improved over the year-ago night with original programming ("The Quest" on 9/4/14) by 69% in Total Viewers (2.7 million vs. 1.6 million) and 20% in Adults 18-49 (0.6/2 vs. 0.5/1).

"Rookie Blue" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.7 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):
In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's season finale of "Rookie Blue" grew week to week in Total Viewers (+9% - 3.7 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+40% - 0.7/2 vs. 0.5/2) to post 6-week highs - since 7/23/15. In fact, the ABC drama matched its 2nd-highest-rated telecast of the season among young adults.

Friday
With back-to-back encores of "Shark Tank" from 8:00-10:00 p.m. leading into "20/20," ABC won Friday night in Adults 18-49 (0.9/4) and grew for the 2nd-straight week (+13%) to match a 10-week high on the evening - since 6/26/15.

The repeat telecasts of "Shark Tank" won their 8:00 p.m. (1.0/4) and 9:00 p.m. (1.0/4) time slots among Adults 18-49 while tying as the night's No. 1 program on the major networks.

Saturday
The 10th season premiere of "Saturday Night Football" (Wisconsin vs. Alabama) made ABC the dominant No. 1 network on the night in Total Viewers (8.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/12), towering over NBC with its COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage (4.0 million and 1.2/5). ABC delivered its most watched and highest-rated Saturday night in 9 months - since 12/6/14.

ABC's college-football game easily qualified as the night's No. 1 TV show with Total Viewers (8.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/12).

"Saturday Night Football" grew over its year-ago season opener by 33% in Viewers (8.0 million vs. 6.0 million) and 42% in Adults 18-49 (2.7/11 vs. 1.9/8).

Sunday
"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 3.9 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49):
On average during its 6-week run on the night, "Bachelor in Paradise" improved its 2-hour slot for ABC by 45% in Total Viewers (4.8 million vs. 3.3 million) and by 78% in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5 vs. 0.9/3) over the same weeks last year with original programming ("Wipeout"/"Rising Star"). The ABC unscripted series ranked No. 1 against its broadcast competition in the time slot with Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
