Returning after the prior week's preemption for the SOTU and coming out of a special repeat "Shark Tank" at 9:00 p.m., "Marvel's Agent Carter" moved ABC up to second in the hour among Adults 18-49 (1.3/4-tie), beating NBC's original comedies by 63% ("Marry Me"/"About a Boy" = 0.8/2). The new ABC drama also earned second in the hour with Total Viewers (4.6 million), while ranking No. 1 in its time period with key Men 18-34 (tie) and Men 18-49.

  • Based on the first round of Live + 7 Day ratings for the show, ABC's 2-hour series debut of "Marvel's Agent Carter" spiked to a 3.0 Adult 18-49 rating (up +1.1 rating points or +58%) and 10.2 million Total Viewers (up +3.3 million viewers or +48%) over its first-reported Live + Same Day averages.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.

Projections Rationale:

Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2013-14 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere).

Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).

New Series: Based on similar series.
