Variety reports that ABC has pulled its new time travel drama TIME AFTER TIME from its schedule, effectively cancelling the series. As per a programming note from the network, the series will be replaced in its Sunday, 9 p.m. time period for the next three weeks by the celebrity gameshow "Match Game." The drama becomes the second scripted, freshman series to be pulled from the air this season. Last month, CBS canceled "Doubt" after airing only two episodes.

"Time After Time" premiered on March 5th to an unimpressive 0.7 rating and an average audience of 2.53 million. In its first four episodes it has averaged a 0.5 in the demo and 2.2 million viewers.

Based on the novel and movie "Time After Time," executive producer/writer Kevin Williamson ("The Vampire Diaries," "Scream" franchise, "Dawson's Creek") delivers a fantastical cat and mouse adventure through time when famed Science fiction writer H.G. Wells is transported to modern day Manhattan in pursuit of Jack the Ripper. Once H.G. arrives in New York City, he finds a world he never thought possible and a young woman who captivates him. The series stars Freddie Stroma, Will Chase, Josh Bowman, Jennifer Ferrin and Genesis Rodriguez.
