A& E Studios Inks First-Look Development Deal with Emmy Winner Carlton Cuse

A+E Studios has signed a three-year, first-look development agreement with prolific writer and producer and two-time Emmy winner Carlton Cuse, it was announced today by Barry Jossen, Executive Vice President of A+E Studios. This partnership marks A+E Studios' first overall production deal with a creator/writer-producer since its inception.

"I look forward to continuing to work on 'The Returned' and to developing other projects with Bob DeBitetto, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson and the amazing team at A+E. It's a great place to work."

"Since the start of A+E Studios, it has been our intention to expand our collaboration with Carlton. We know he is one of the few producers with the unique combination of creativity and skills to personally create, as well as nurture other writers. Now, we can continue on our path with Carlton toward producing many successful and brand-defining series together."

Cuse will work closely with Jossen and his team to develop quality original drama programming for the A+E portfolio of networks, including A&E, Lifetime and History.

Cuse is one of today's most prolific producers, currently a writer/producer on five active series. Cuse serves as executive producer of both "Bates Motel" and the upcoming series "The Returned" for A&E Network, in addition to "The Strain" for FX. Cuse and Jossen recently completed production on the pilot "Point of Honor" for Amazon. Cuse co-wrote the pilot with Randall Wallace. Cuse is also in pre-production on "Colony" for USA Network. Perhaps best known for his work on "Lost," Cuse served as co-showrunner, executive producer and head writer with Damon Lindelof for all six seasons on ABC. His other television credits as a creator, co-creator and executive producer include "Nash Bridges" "Marshal Law" and "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." In addition to his two Emmy wins, Cuse has received a total of 10 Emmy nominations for his work. Among his other honors, Cuse has won a Peabody Award, a Golden Globe, the Jules Verne Award, four Saturn Awards and a Writers' Guild Award. In 2010, Cuse was named to Time magazine's annual list of 100 Most Influential People in the World. Cuse is repped by WME.
