Mariah Carey stopped by THE WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE clubhouse on Sunday evening and was asked by a fan if she would consider turning her 2001 musical film GLITTER into a Broadway musical. The film was a box office failure, disappearing from theaters after a month and earning a mere $5 million at the global box office. However, the official soundtrack from the movie sold over 3 million copies and enjoys a cult following to this day.
"That's an interesting question," Carey responded to the viewer's query. "That's something that I've been thinking about because I actually own that soundtrack. I really do like it. It was something I tried to do before I think people were ready." The superstar went on to explain that if the film was adapted to the stage, she would take a different approach the second time around. "The movie had so many problems. Now it's so kitsch that it's like, 'Watch it for laughs.' But I mean, I would definitely do something with it for the true fans. Something like a Rocky Horror-esque type of way," Watch the appearance below!Video courtesy of yahoo.com.
