Justin Bieber's newest film BELIEVE, which hit theaters on Christmas Day appears to be a box office disaster according to Showbiz411. According to an estimate of the New Year's Day box office take provided by the film's studio Open Road, BELIEVE took in $195,181, a sharp decline from the $460,000 it earned the previous day. The cumlative total since its opening is still less than the $5 million it reportedly cost to produce, not including advertising and marketing costs.
Directed by Jon M. Chu,BELIEVE features brand new interviews with Bieber and appearances from manager Scooter Braun,Usher Raymond, Rodney Jerkins, Ludacris, Mike Posner and many more.
"I am so excited to be involved in this movie, and so happy to be able to give back to my fans, especially during the holiday season," Justin exclaimed prior to the film's premiere. "Jon Chu and my team have done a wonderful job creating a special moment for Beliebers worldwide and I can't wait till Christmas day when the movie will be in theaters everywhere."
In addition, the failure of the film appears to have affected sales of Bieber's new album 'Journals', which dropped on the iTunes album chart at number 12 after less than a week. The album debuted to no radio play and none of the tracks broke out as singles.
