Variety reports exclusively that BETTER OFF SINGLE, a new comedy starring Broadway fave Aaron Tveit, will hit theaters and On Demand on October 7th. Benjamin Cox helms the film from his own script. Abby Elliott, Lauren Miller Rogen, Kal Penn, Chris Elliott, Lewis Black, Shane McRae, Kelen Coleman and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford (YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU) also star.

In the film from Gravitas Ventures, Tveit will portray "a man who quits his job and breaks up with his girlfriend (Abby Elliott) on the same day, but begins to wonder if he's made a mistake after a quick dip in the dark waters of the New York City dating pool. With no job and no love, he's forced to go on a journey of self-discovery so intense that he begins to suffer from surreal hallucinations, flashbacks and fantasies."

Commented Cox, "We set out to make a smart, funny movie - one that would only be possible by the means of talented collaborators on both sides of the camera. We're thrilled to extend that collaboration to include Gravitas. We can't wait for audiences to get a look."

Tveit can currently be seen in the new CBS series "BrainDead" and will soon be seen in the upcoming feature films "Stereotypically You" and "Undrafted." The actor recently starred in FOX's GREASE LIVE and the cable series "Graceland." Prior to "Graceland," he portrayed the character "Enjolras" inTom Hooper's 2012 award-winning film adaption of "Les Miserables." Other feature credits include "Big Sky," "Howl," "Premium Rush" and "Ghost Town."

On Broadway, he starred in "Catch Me If You Can," and also created the role of "Gabe" in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical, "Next To Normal." Other Broadway credits include "Wicked," "Hairspray" and "Rent." Recently, Tveit starred in the critically acclaimed U.K. revival of "Assassins," portraying John Wilkes Booth. Television audiences will also recognize him from his recurring role of "Trip Van der Bilt" on "Gossip Girl," as well as numerous guest-starring roles on "The Good Wife," "Ugly Betty" and "Law And Order: Special Victims Unit."
