James DiLapo will pen the project which is a followup to the studio's Illiad-inspired 'Troy' which starred Brad Pitt as Achilles. According to the report, The Odyssey will follow "the struggle of Odysseus to return from wars, as suitors line up to marry his wife, and sponge off his estate as they wait for her to make a decision."

DiLapo, a recent graduate of NYU, received the Nicholl Fellowship this past fall for his first script, Devils At Play, which made the 2012 Black List.
