Deadline reports that Warner Bros. studio will re-imagine Homer's epic THE ODYSSEY. The twist? The upcoming flix will be set in space sometime in the future.

James DiLapo will pen the project which is a followup to the studio's Illiad-inspired 'Troy' which starred Brad Pitt as Achilles. According to the report, The Odyssey will follow "the struggle of Odysseus to return from wars, as suitors line up to marry his wife, and sponge off his estate as they wait for her to make a decision."

1821's Pictures' Terry Dougas and Paris Kasidokostas Latsis will produce along with David Heyman. The studio believes the project may have franchise potentiial.

DiLapo, a recent graduate of NYU, received the Nicholl Fellowship this past fall for his first script, Devils At Play, which made the 2012 Black List. The story is described as a paranoid thriller set in 1937 Soviet Union, and tells the tale of "a worker of The People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs who finds a list of traitors which he thinks is going to be his way out."
