PIXELS with Adam Sandler, Kevin James & Josh Gad Set for May 2015 Release
According to Deadline, Sony has set a May 15, 2015 release date for its upcoming comedy PIXELS.
Directed by Chris Columbus and produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison, the star-studded cast includesPeter Dinklage, Kevin James, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Monaghan.
The plot line centers around a group of video-game experts who are recruited by the government to prevent popular 80s video-game characters from taking over New York City. The story is based upon Patrick Jean's short film of the same name, which won the Annecy Crystal for Best Short Film at the 2011 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
Columbus and the studio are working with many of the 1980s' most iconic videogame brands in an effort to bring together on the big screen the characters from the decade's quintessential games. "By combining the visceral power of 80's arcade games with state-of-the-art visual effects, Pixels will take the audience to a place they've never been before," stated Columbus.
