The SANDMAN comic series follows Morpheus, "the personification of dreams", who escapes after 70 years of imprisonment and must save his fallen kingdom while seeking revenge and adapting to life after captivity.

Gordon-Levitt, who will next be seen in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, just made his directorial debut with Don Jon, in which he stars opposite Scarlett Johansson. Gordon-Levitt's work in Inception and The Dark Knight Rises make him a prime candidate for another comic book franchise. His other film credits include Lincoln, Looper, Premium Rush, 50/50, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, (500) Days of Summer and more.
