The Hollywood Reporter writes that Jeff Bridges will star in THE EMPEROR'S CHILDREN, adapted from Claire Messud's novel and helmed by Lake Bell for Imagine Entertainment.

From a script by NOAH Baumbach, THE EMPEROR'S CHILDREN is described as "a quintessential New York narrative as it tells the abstruse life of a legendary journalist and liberal opinion-maker named Murray Thwaite (Bridges), exposing the ambition and PRIDE of his family and friends, and his entanglement with his daughter's best friend, all in the days leading up to 9/11."

Among Bridges' recent film credits are THE SEVENTH SON, THE GIVER and R.I.P.D. He is also lending his voice to the upcoming adaptation of THE LITTLE PRINCE.

His star turn in 2009's CRAZY HEART won him the Oscar for Best Actor. Bridges has also earned Academy Award nominations for his roles in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT, STARMAN, THE CONTENDER and TRUE GRIT.
