As BWW previously reported, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will reprise their iconic roles from the original Star Wars trilogy for the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VII. Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that Ford's character, space adventurer Han Solo's role will be significantly larger than that of Luke and Leia.

Says EW, "Even more significant, Han Solo won't just be a walk-on. While Hamill and Fisher will boast strong supporting parts, Ford will join three of the young stars as one of the leads in the story, according to several sources close to the film. Bonus points to anyone who gets to say to him, "She's fast enough for you, old man."

In a related story, Jedi News is reporting that actor Adam Driver will take on the role of the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa in the latest installment. This report contradicts earlier rumors that Driver would be portraying the villain in the film.

The studio has not confirmed either report.

Recently, Lucasfilm announced the casting for Star Wars Episode VII which includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
