Anne Hathaway Makes A Return Visit to FOX's THE SIMPSONS on January 10, 2010

HitFix.com reports that stage and screen favorite Anne Hathaway will pay a return visit to "Springfield" when she guest stars on the 450th episode set to air on January 10 , 2010.

Hathaway appeared on the show before playing Jenny who is the love interest of Bart and an 11-year-old volunteer at Grampa's retirement home.

Variety reported a number of months ago that Anne Hathaway will star on both stage and screen as Judy Garland in the Weinstein Co.'s stage and film adaptations of Gerald Clarke's bio "Get Happy." The Weinstein Company recently optioned the stage and film rights to the book, first published by Delta in 2001.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) presented a new production of William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT directed by Daniel Sullivan which featured Anne Hathaway as Viola. TWELFTH NIGHT ran June 9th -July 12th at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. 

Anne Hathaway has been nominated for an Oscar, a Golden Globe, an Independent Spirit Award, and a SAG Award for her performance in Jonathan Demme's film Rachel Getting Married. Her stage credits include the lead role in the critically acclaimed 2002 City Center Encores production of Carnival! and Paper Mill Playhouse productions of Jane Eyre and Gigi. She is best-known for playing leading roles in the films Bride Wars, Brokeback Mountain (SAG Outstanding Ensemble nomination), The Devil Wears Prada, Get Smart, Ella Enchanted, Passengers, The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and Becoming Jane.

"Best. 20 Years. Ever.," a year-long global celebration honoring all things THE SIMPSONS, launched in January 2009 and will culminate in January 2010, the 20th anniversary of the series' debut.

Now the longest-running comedy in television history, THE SIMPSONS immediately struck a chord with viewers across the country as it poked fun of itself and everything in its wake. With its subversive humor and delightful wit, the series has made an indelible imprint on American pop culture, and the family members have become television icons.

THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film Roman, a Starz Media Company, is the animation house.
