The Cleveland POPS Orchestra with conductor Carl Topilow will salute the Academy Awards for Music at Severance Hall on Friday February 6, 2015. The first half of the two-hour concert starts at 8:00 p.m. and will feature musical selections representing each of the eight decades in which songs and original scores for movies have been recognized by the Academy. The audience will experience, in order of decade, music from The Wizard of Oz (30's), Sea Hawk (40's), Ben Hur (50's) The Graduate (60's), The Godfather (70's), Amadeus (80's), Titanc (90's), and Lord of the Rings (00's). The second hour of the evening will feature a wide selection of songs and scores that were in contention for, but did not win the coveted golden statue - including Chicago, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, LES MISERABLES, West Side Story, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, and more.

Cleveland POPS conductor Carl Topilow, a film music enthusiast, will host the concert along with co-host Bill Rudman. Rudman, the founder and artistic director of The Musical Theater Project, is a nationally recognized authority on the American musical. Topilow and Rudman will offer history and comments on the music being presented. Stars of Tomorrow - talented members of the nationally acclaimed Baldwin Wallace University Music Theater Department - will perform many of the numbers in the concert's second half.

Bill Rudman (Writer, Co-host) Bill Rudman, the founder and artistic director of The Musical Theater Project, is a nationally recognized authority on the American musical. His radio program Footlight Parade is heard locally on WCLV 104.9 and coast-to-coast on 100 pubic stations and Sirius XM Satellite Radio (under the title On the Aisle). Bill has created more than 60 concerts and cabarets for TMTP's Song Is You! series and has produced recordings of classic American theater and film songs featuring such vocalists as Peggy Lee and Maxine Sullivan. Recent speaking engagements include New York's Paley Center for Media and the Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival. In 2000 Bill became the first recipient of the Robert P. Bergman Award for his work in arts education and community outreach.

Lucille Anders (Vocalist)

Lucy Anders is thrilled to be making her debut with the Cleveland Pops. Her regional credits include Charlotte in Oliver,Eleanor/Bizarbra in Starmites, Liesel in The Sound of Music (Porthouse Theatre) Young Duke of York in Richard III and Mrs. Thornhill in Sweeney Todd (Idaho Shakespeare Festival/Great Lakes Theatre); Jenny Cavilleri in Love Story, The Musical (14thStreet Theatre - Ohio Premier); Lucy in Snoopy: The Musical, Deborah Sue in Bye Bye Birdie, Zaneeta Shinn in The Music Man(Findlay SummerStock); and Fredrika Armfeldt in A Little Night Music (Opera Cleveland). Other favorite roles include Little Red inInto the Woods and Dainty June in Gypsy. Lucy is a senior music theatre major at Baldwin Wallace University where she has appeared as Young Heidi in Follies, as Stewardess Robinson in Titanic: The Musical, Gretel in the opera Hansel and Gretel, and most recently as Maggie in A Chorus Line.

Kelly Autry (Vocalist)

Kelly Autry is thrilled to be performing with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. Kelly is a junior at Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music majoring in Musical Theatre. Baldwin Wallace credits include Mike Costa in the production of A Chorus Line (2014) and ensemble roles in Carrie the musical (2014), Carousel (2013), Love Story (2013), Follies (2012), and the role of Ash Ketchum in the student production "The Pokemusical" (2013). Professional credits include: Spamalot (Sir Robin) at New London Barn Playhouse in New London, New Hampshire (2014) and Smokey Joes' Cafe (Michael) at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Ohio (2013). Kelly is a native of Elon, North Carolina.

Ellis Dawson (Vocalist)

Ellis Dawson is a junior musical theatre major at Baldwin Wallace University. He is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. His favorite previous roles include Richie in A Chorus Line, Donkey in Shrek, Henry in Next to Normal, Adrian in Smokey Joes Cafe, and Emmett in Legally Blonde. After college Ellis plans to move to New York City to pursue his dreams in becoming a Broadway Actor.

Hannah-Jo Weisberg (Vocalist)

? ?Hannah-Jo, originally from Pittsburgh, now calls Cleveland home. As a senior Music Theater major with a minor in Theater at Baldwin Wallace University, Hannah-Jo is no stranger to the stage. Some of her favorite roles include: Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Meg Brockie in Brigadoon, Brooke/Vicki in Noises Off, Eurydice in Eurydice, and Kristine in A Chorus Line. Next, you can find Hannah-Jo playing Annette in Saturday Night Fever the Musical at Playhouse Square. Hannah-Jo is also the current Miss North Coast and will be competing for the title of Miss Ohio in June. Hannah-Jo will graduate with honors in May and then hopes to head straight to New York City, after completing a year as Miss Ohio of course!
