PITTSBURGH - Single tickets to the 20 concert weekends of the 2015-2016 BNY Mellon Grand Classics season go on sale Monday, August 17 at 9 a.m.

The season includes many talented soloists such as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Gretchen Van Hoesen, principal harp, and Michael Rusinek, principal clarinet, and debuts of emerging musicians and conductors, as well as return appearances from audience favorites such as pianist Emanuel Ax. This season has a focus on the "performer-composer," featuring four exciting artists presenting their own works - pianist Conrad Tao, pianist Daniil Trifonov (who appears twice with the symphony during the season), percussionist Stewart Copeland and organist Cameron Carpenter. Other season highlights include the annual Gala concert, Cinema Serenade with violin superstar Itzhak Perlman; a one-night-only presentation of Handel's Messiah led by Manfred Honeck, just in time for the holiday season; a newly designed semi-staged version of Bach's St. John Passion; a multimedia experience with "The Earth: An HD Odyssey," featuring visually stunning HD NASA footage of the Earth coupled with music from Richard Strauss and John Adams; a Klezmer violin concerto conceived by Concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley; and much more!
