Wednesday, January 7, at 4 pm at the Princeton Public Library, PSO Music Director Rossen Milanov will talk about his conducting career in the US and Spain at this PSO Soundtracks presentation. He'll introduce PSO's January chamber music performances by members of the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, his orchestra in Oviedo, Spain, and share his love of all aspects of Spanish culture and cuisine. Find out what's in store at the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) this season and next and how Rossen's work around the world advances the PSO's music making for local audiences. This PSO Soundtracks presentation is a prelude to the January 18 PSO Classical Series Concert Scenic Rhythms which will feature classical guitarist Robert Belini?, who'll be performing the Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez.

Free and open to the public; Princeton Public Library Community Room; refreshments served, including Spanish delicacies provided by Despaña Tapas Cafe, Princeton.

The PSO Soundtracks Series is presented in partnership with The Princeton Public Library. It explores music and related topics, including behind the scenes at the PSO, Princeton's only professional orchestra.

About Music Director Rossen Milanov

Princeton Symphony Orchestra Music Director Rossen Milanov has been recognized as "one of the most promising figures in the upcoming generation of conductors" by The Seattle Times and "one who bears watching by anyone who cares about the future of music" by the Chicago Tribune. He was named among the "Top 5 Most Influential in NJ Arts" in 2014 by The Newark Star-Ledger's Inside Jersey Guide. He began his tenure with the PSO in June 2009. In the fall of 2014, Mr. Milanov was announced music director designate of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and appointed music director of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra by the Chautauqua Institution. He is former associate conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra and former artistic director of The Philadelphia Orchestra's series at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. In 2012, he was appointed principal conductor of the Orquesta Sinf?nica del Principado de Asturias in Oviedo, Spain. A committed supporter of music education, Mr. Milanov is music director of Symphony in C, one of the leading professional training orchestras in the United States. Mr. Milanov studied conducting at The Juilliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music, Duquesne University, and the Bulgarian National Academy of Music. He has received the Award for Extraordinary Contribution to Bulgarian Culture and in 2005 was chosen as Bulgaria's Musician of the Year.
