New York Philharmonic to Perform Works by Bizet, C. Schumann, and Brahms at Merkin Concert Hall, 1/26

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, composed of musicians from the Orchestra, will give its third performance of the 2013-14 season on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall with a concert featuring Bizet's Carmen Fantasie Quartet, C. Schumann's Piano Trio, and Brahms's Piano Trio No. 2 in C major.

The musicians on the program will be violinists Lisa Kim, and Na Sun; cellists Qiang Tu and Ru-Pei Yeh; bassists Blake Hinson, Satoshi Okamoto, Rex Surany, and Maz Zeugner; and guest pianists Hélène Jeanney and Helen Huang.

Since 1984 the Philharmonic Ensembles series has presented diverse programming of both classical masterpieces and modern compositions. Ensembles concerts are also offered on the Orchestra's international and domestic tours, on separate chamber music tours, and at locations throughout New York City.
