Celebrate the summer at Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, when it welcomes back two acclaimed groups: HBO's favorite 1920's dance band Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on Saturday, July 13 (6:30PM) and the Penderecki String Quartet performing Warner, Dvorak, and Bartok on Sunday, July 14 (3PM) with guest artist Pamela Mia Paul, piano. For 84 years, Music Mountain has brought chamber music to audiences of all ages and its Jazz, Big Band, and Country concerts are additional examples of the diverse musical talents and genres that perform at Gordon Hall each season. Summer concerts are scheduled through September 8.

Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks - the finest of Big Band, Jazz & Swing - returns for another evening of dynamic and delightful music. The Grammy Award winning band (recognized for their work on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire") will have the crowd on their feet and dancing to vintage swing and timeless jazz age treasures. You've seen them featured on USA Networks' "Royal Pains," PBS' "Michael Feinstein's American Songbook," and a "Prairie Home Companion," now come see them live! (The evening's performance is underwritten by Norman Fields.)

Penderecki String Quartet returns with guest artist Pamela Mia Paul for Sunday afternoon's program featuring Warner: Suite in the Olden Style, Opus 34; Dvorak: String Quartet in G Major, Opus 106; and the Music Mountain premiere of?Bartok: Piano Quintet. With their wide range of repertoire, and their technical and emotional excellence, the Penderecki String Quartet has become one of the most celebrated chamber ensembles of their generation. Nearing their third decade, the PSQ's recent performance schedule has brought them to New York City, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Paris. The Penderecki String Quartet is entering their 20th year as Quartet-in-Residence at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.

Pamela Mia Paul has garnered consistent critical praise for her performance as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has performed throughout the US, Europe and Asia, appearing in many of the world's major concert halls. Ms. Paul is currently Regents Professor of Piano at the University of North Texas.

The Saturday Twilight series continues with the following schedule: Gunsmoke (July 20), Swingtime Big Band (July 27), Galvanized Jazz Band (August 16), and the first annual Folk Music Jamboree (August 24).

Upcoming Chamber Music Concerts include: Arianna String Quartet with Pamela Mia Paul, Piano, returning for the second time this summer (July 21), Dover String Quartet with Alexander Fiterstein, Clarinet (July 28), Amernet String Quartet (August 3 & 4), with Alexander Platt, Narrator for Peter and the Wolf on Saturday and Ronald Leonard, cello on Sunday and Amphion String Quartet joined by Naumburg Award Winning pianist Soyeon Kate Lee (August 10).
