Jason Tramm to Conduct MidAtlantic Chamber Orchestra at Mary Flagler Cary Hall, 4/5

Maestro Jason Tramm will conduct the MidAtlantic Chamber Orchestra in a concert featuring the five winners of the 2014 National Young Artists Concerto Competition for Piano and Strings in works by Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens, Mozart and Beethoven on Saturday April 5 at 4PM at the Mary Flagler Cary Hall at the DiMenna Center of Classical Music in New York City.

The Concert's five young virtuosi soloists, ages 8-16, who comprise the 2014 National Young Artists Concerto Competition Winners, will include Abigail Yoon, Violinist age 8, student of Elizabeth Faidley, playing the Mozart violin concerto K. 216; Ian Maloney, Cellist age 9, student of Madeline Golz, Thurnauer School of Music, performing the Cello Concerto No. 1 by Saint- Saens; Charis Yoon, Pianist age 10, student of Steven Masi, Thurnauer School of Music, performing the Capriccio Brillant Op. 22 by Mendelssohn; Kenta Nomura, Violinist age 14, student of Ann Setzer at Pre College Division of the Juilliard School, performing the Violin Concerto Op. 64 by Mendelssohn and Serina Chang, Pianist age 16, studying at Pre College Division of Manhattan School of Music under Elena Belli, who will perform the Piano Concerto No. 3 by Beethoven.

Tramm was so moved by the level of artistry presented by all contestants, introduced the idea and opportunity to feature the 2014 Concerto Competition winners in concert with the MidAtlantic Chamber Orchestra to further develop these young musicians' remarkable skills. Tramm served as a judge for the National League of Performing Arts for the past two years. The April 5th National Young Artists Concerto Competition Concert is a collaboration between the National League of Performing Arts and the MidAtlantic Chamber Orchestra.

The five winners of the annual National Young Artists Concerto Competition for Piano and Strings were selected from a field of 28 contestants. The competition took place in New Jersey on March 2, 2014. The distinguished musicians Tomoko Kanamaru, Byung-Kook Kwak, and Jason Tramm served as judges for the 2014 competition.

Tickets for April 5 Concert are $20 General Admission ($15 Seniors/Students) and will be available at the door (cash or check only) Mary Flagler Cary Hall, DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 W. 37th Street, New York.
