December 1, 2015 - Chattanooga, TN - The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present its annual holiday family tradition, Home for the Holidays, on Saturday, December 19 at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 20 at 3:00pm at the Tivoli Theatre. The CSO's annual holiday program returns to its roots with traditional holiday fare, featuring special guest vocalist and Chattanooga native Scott Coulter, star of the Emmy-nominated PBS Special A Christmas Carol: The Concert. Coulter will perform songs such as "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year", "O Holy Night", and pieces from A Christmas Carol. Other tunes on the concert include "Sleigh Ride", "Tennessee Christmas" and our annual sing-a-long.

Sunday's performance includes a special reading of A Christmas Carol with free hot chocolate for the kids at 2:15. Santa will be at both performances for pictures!

Tickets start at $24 and are available online at www.chattanoogasymphony.org, by calling 423.267.8583, or in person at the Tivoli Center, 701 Broad Street, Chattanooga. Students with a valid student ID and kids 17 and under can attend for only $15.

About Scott Coulter

For his work in cabaret, Scott Coulter was awarded both the 2001 Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) Award as well as the 2001 Bistro Award for Outstanding Male Vocalist. He received a 1997 Bistro Award for the revue Get Your Tickets Now! and his debut solo show won the 1998 Award for Best Male Debut.

TimeOutNY picked Scott's "Unexpected Songs" as one of the 'Best of 1999.' Scott's self-titled debut CD won the 2003 MAC Award for Outstanding Recording and was chosen as the best recording of the year

by Scott and Barbara Siegel of TheaterMania and Jeff Rosen of Cabaret Scenes magazine.

Scott has appeared at Town Hall in the 1949, 1953, 1962 and 1968 editions of the popular "Broadway by the Year" series and can currently be heard on the Bayview recordings of the 1949 and 1953 performances. Other Town Hall performances include "Sentimental Journey: The Songs of World War II," "From Broadway to Hollywood," "All That Jazz: A Tribute to Kander & Ebb" and "Broadway Unplugged."

Since 1997, Scott has performed around the country with award-winning songwriting duo Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich in their many revues. Currently, he is touring with composer Stephen Schwartz, Liz Callaway and Debbie Gravitte in the revue Stephen Schwartz & Friends. Schwartz has said "one of the best things that can happen to a songwriter is to have his or her material interpreted by Scott Coulter."

Scott toured the country as Jinx in Forever Plaid and performed in the world premiere of Floyd Collins. Regional theatre credits include Into the Woods, In Trousers, Cotton Patch Gospel, Pump Boys and Dinettes and As Bees in Honey Drown. He is a graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

About Us

The mission of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera is to inspire, engage, and enrich the greater Chattanooga community through music and music education. The 2015/16 season marks 83 seasons for the CSO, which played its first concert on November 5, 1933. The CSO, conducted by Music Director Kayoko Dan, consists of top players from the Chattanooga area as well as from across the southern region. The CSO performs a full season of Masterworks, Pops, Chamber, and Volkswagen Series concerts from September through May, as well as a variety of community, education, and engagement events throughout the year.
