The Chamber Music Society has announced its eagerly-awaited return to the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts series in Central Park on Tuesday, August 12, at 7:30 PM in the Naumburg Bandshell. Last summer's debut concert, attended by an overflow crowd, met with a rousing response likened to a rock concert. This year, an intergenerational cast of world-renowned CMS artists will perform an alluring mix of repertoire spanning three centuries: from the 18th, Haydn's Piano Trio in C major, Hob. XV:27; from the 19th , Weber's Clarinet Quintet Op. 34; and from the 20th, Paul Schoenfield's Clarinet Trio.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) is one of eleven constituents of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the largest performing arts complex in the world. Along with other constituents such as the New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, Lincoln Center Theater, and The Metropolitan Opera, the Chamber Music Society has its home at Lincoln Center, in Alice Tully Hall. Through its performance, education, and recording/broadcast activities, it draws more people to chamber music than any other organization of its kind.

Perofmers include world-renowned musicians: pianist Gloria Chien; violinists Bella Hristova and Ani Kavafian; violist Pierre LaPointe; cellist Sophie Shao; and clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester.
