Gene & Shelley Enlow Recital Hall (Enlow Hall) at Kean University Spring 2014 season features Arco Ensemble in their second concert in the "Concert & Café" series on Sunday, March 23 at 3 p.m

This offering, "Remembrance of Strings Past" will take a look at works of great masters as rediscovered and reinterpreted by later musicians. The program will be conducted by internationally eminent conductor of concert and opera, Joseph Rescigno. Maestro Rescigno will conduct the Felix Mendelssohn's Sinfonia No. 8 and Ottorino Respighi's "Ancient Airs and Dances" Suite for Strings. He will join the ensemble, performing keyboard in the third "Brandenburg Concerto" by J.S. Bach.

Joseph Rescigno has conducted symphonies, concertos, operas, and oratorios on four continents for more than 50 companies. Since 1981, he has served as Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor of the Florentine Opera Company of Milwaukee (WI). He is also Music Director of La Musica Lirica, a summer program for singers in Northern Italy.

The "Concert & Café" series is a new venture, initiated in the fall of 2013. Following an hour-long concert, the audience is invited to the adjoining café for light refreshment and informal discussion with the highly accomplished members of Arco Ensemble. Joseph Rescigno is known for lively and informative talks and will be a welcome feature in the discussion portion of the March event.
