MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ Award winning advertising guru and creator of famed elf, mr. little guy, Thom Sandberg announces the release of his debut book, "Lylian; Lost Land of the Lytles." This captivating first novel by Sandberg creates an entirely new world of enchantment, danger, and a race of lost creatures, 10-inches tall. Readers age 8 - 12 will have the adventure of a lifetime as they join the main character Lucia Boyd and her father Leo as they discover the island nation of Lylian.

For over 20 years, people of all ages have been leaving notes on the shore of Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, behind a wee door in the hollow of a tree for an elf named mr. little guy. And for 20 years their notes have been answered. Each year 1,500 to 2,000 people write to say hello, seek advice and ask for their wishes to come true. Every letter written by mr. little guy ends with, "I believe in you."

From where in the world would a creature small enough to live in a tree come? Find out when you read, "Lylian; Lost Land of the Lytles."

When 13-year-old Lucia Boyd sells an invention, she completes the deal on the mysterious island nation, Lylian. Isolated in the North Atlantic Ocean, Lylian has minimal contact with the rest of the world, largely because it is the home to a race of 10-inch-tall human-like creatures called Lytles.

What starts off as an exotic junket soon becomes a battle of life and death as Lucia ends up hostage to a group of mercenaries intent on overthrowing the island and destroying the entire Lytle population. And only the Lytles can save her.

"For years, when I would walk Lake Harriet with my daughter, she would stop to peer into the magical elf house at the foot of a tree known to many grateful children and their parents. Now my daughter is grown, and a devoted reader of fantasy, and she and I and many other children and parents can enjoy 'Lylian' by Thom Sandberg, the gifted creator of the elf house who has fashioned a vivid novel that extends his magic into a world of intrigue, courage and personal awakening." Lawrence Sutin, Minnesota Book Award winner.

To celebrate the book launch, Sandberg will have a launch party, including book signing and reading at Wild Rumpus from 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2016. Wild Rumpus is located at 2720 West 43 rd Street, Minneapolis, Minn., 55410.

"Lylian; Lost Land of the Lytles" is a 225-page paperback with a retail price of $14.99. It can be purchased through Whizbang Press. It is also available on Amazon.com and at Wild Rumpus bookstore.
