Six weeks after being released, "Our Best Tomorrow: Students Teaching Capitalism to America" (Headline Books) remains an Amazon bestseller and is steadily gaining national attention.

Thirteen-year-old co-author Lauren Hudson is scheduled to appear on the Fox Business Network's "Varney & Co.," hosted by acclaimed economic journalist and commentator Stuart Varney, on Friday, January 3, between 9:20-11:00 a.m. Eastern time. Varney has called the book "a shining example of capitalism and the American Way."

It will be Hudson's second appearance on the program and her fifth overall on national television. She has also appeared on "Fox & Friends," "Money with Melissa Francis" and "Stossel," and is scheduled to be interviewed by nationally syndicated political commentator Roger Hedgecock on his San Diego television program, "The Roger Hedgecock Show," on January 3, via Skype.

"Our Best Tomorrow," which Lauren wrote with her father, attorney Robert D. Hudson, combines fictional stories with historical and factual information to teach teenagers the principles of capitalism.

"There are a lot of misconceptions about capitalism," Lauren said. "People my age don't understand capitalism, because a lot of schools don't teach it. This book is about jobs and expanding the economy and making the world a better place to live. It's not just about money. It's about hope, community, honesty, charity and morals. They all tie together."

"Our Best Tomorrow" tells the stories of three characters whose lives are improved as a result of capitalism. Lauren wrote the fictional stories, while her father covered the historical details.

"Lauren's stories drive the book," Robert said. "We wanted to give schools and parents another tool to help teach kids about the American dream."

Robert D. Hudson practices labor and employment law, including various aspects of labor and employment consulting for management, with the Cincinnati-based law firm of Frost Brown Todd. In addition to co-authoring "Our Best Tomorrow," he is the author of "A Better Tomorrow: Fighting for Capitalism and Jobs in the Heartland" (Saratoga Press LLC, 2012).

Lauren Hudson, an eighth-grader at Turkey Foot Middle School in Edgewood, Kentucky, is a Duke Scholar and has received numerous awards for academic achievement.
