THE TALE OF MKEKE is Released

In the tradition of African griots - storytellers - author Sundiata, the Tale Weaver, presents an updated rendition of a moving, dramatic folktale about a little girl who is kidnapped by an evil Gimli in his new book, "The Tale of Mkeke" (published by AuthorHouse).

Mkeke is having fun at the ocean, but when her sisters tell her it's time to leave, she dawdles behind and the evil Gimli traps her in his drum. He makes her sing and tricks people into giving him money and food by convincing them that he has a magical singing drum. When Mkeke's father finds out where she is, he goes to rescue her, but will he be able to outwit the evil Gimli?

A new take on an old African tale, modernized with an uniquely hip-hop culture flair, "The Tale of Mkeke" is an educational tale for children, encouraging them to avoid the pitfalls of "stranger danger." Sundiata hopes to increase readers' awareness of scams and child abduction and open the door to healthy and pertinent dialogue about an extremely uncomfortable topic.

About the Author
Sundiata, the Tale Weaver is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. He is CEO of Vortex Tales, a creative media company. He made his public debut as a film director in 2012 with the release of "A Touch of Love: Black History 2012," in conjunction with Origin Nile Films. He is the author of numerous children's stories. He heads Bagman Productions with Squally Darx as chief producer. Sundiata is also a partner of a multimedia company based in Los Angeles known as Street Pressure. Sundiata grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the greater Boston area. He has worked with children in Boston's inner-city community centers. Currently, he works in Atlanta Public Schools and has established a martial arts self-defense company called Defend the Temple.
