The worlds are changing. In a world far from our own, where magic and myth are one in the same, a declaration of war is announced. The announcement sets in motion a chain of events that tear into the very fabric of time and space. In Joshua D. McArthur's The Sorceress & The Summoner, an ancient legacy, a prophecy that two lines of magic arising from the enchanted world of Ivane may be reunited in one entity, becomes key to its destruction...or its being able to survive change and flourish.

McArthur's narrative takes on one of those lines of magic known as the essence of the Sorceress. Ten years ago, it turned into malign magic when it was taken by an undeserving woman. Now the essence must be vanquished for good by someone who is graced with its lighter equivalent, the Summoner. This Alizé Dominio, young mage from the Alinta Aces, has, and she is joined by two other who have been enjoined to accomplish the task of eliminating the essence: Eddy Seamer, an expert bladesman who becomes Alizé's betrothed and Keryn Blackhart, patriot and marksman.

Anything is possible on Ivane. The outcome of magic may be of great good or great evil. When, in a twist of circumstance, Alizé is unable to defeat the essence (even with the ancient scepter of the Gods), the powers unleashed within her could lead to a twisted conclusion to the ancient prophecy that said the two lines of magic which came from the people Ivane considered God would be reunited in one who would become God. Unprepared by this development, Alizé, Eddy and Keryn's mission turns desperate as direst catastrophe is unleashed on the worlds as the prophesied saviour of Ivane may become its destroyer. In The Sorceress & The Summoner, Joshua McArthur assures that this powerful story of magical words will be read to its thrilling conclusion. This is the first book of the Between Worlds series that consist of 6 captivating books. Here are the list of other books that will complete your mind's exploration.

About the Author
Joshua David McArthur speaks of his Between Worlds series thus: "Dreams are like ghosts. If you believe in them enough, they become real. And if you truly have faith in them, they manifest right before your eyes . . ." When he was twelve years old, young Joshua David McArthur wanted to be an actor, favouring the intricate and wonderful stories that consumed his imagination. It wasn't until he was fifteen that he suddenly realised he did not want to be on screen but would rather be creating the magical stories that were appearing everywhere from the depths of people's imaginations. "It felt right straight away. All of a sudden, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I think I was one of the lucky ones." It was in that moment that the Between Worlds series began. Starting only as a short story, the tale expanded, and the characters became real, and now the secondary-school hobby has been immortalised in print, turning into not one but six novels. "When the story finishes, I'll be really sorry to say goodbye. There's something wonderful about creating a novel. The characters become your friends. You feel for them: hope, fear, misery, happiness, and, of course, love. But who knows, there could be even more books to come . . . I hope everyone enjoys reading them as much as I did creating them." Joshua currently lives on Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia.
