"Beltway Upheaval" picks up after a bizarre Inauguration Day in which the president, upon being sworn in immediately resigns, leaving George Granger to step in. President Granger predicts a disastrous economic depression for the nation. In an effort to diminish the growing national debt, he issues Executive Order #14914. The controversial order lead to a call for impeachment and a dramatic Senate trail.
Due to stress, Granger is forced to take a leave of absence. In accordance with the 25th Amendment, his Vice President Joan Mulligan is now burdened with running the government. Granger's career and his life hang in the balance as Mulligan and the rest of the country wait to discover the fate of the former president.
"Given the current political climate, there is a desire to learn more about the inner workings of government," Gorman said. "Beltway Upheaval explores Electoral College voting, impeachment process and executive orders. These are all political maneuvers that the average citizen is aware of, but may not know the finer details of putting these administrative actions into place."
