PBS has just announced that they plan to stream live coverage of the Miami Book Fair International.

Previously, only C-Span's Book TV has broadcast coverage, but it has mostly focused on nonfiction. PBS describes their plans for coverage of the Nov. 16-23 event as "Olympic-style," featuring 500 authors and an expected attendance of 200,000 poeple.

It will be hosted by Jeffrey Brown, speaking to multiple novelists, including Richard Ford, Emma Straub, Judy Blume, Mark Strand, and musician Questlove.

Richard Fahle, executive producer of PBS coverage, says that the book industry has not, "always been as aggressive about creating a media opportunity around their business." Fahle previously worked on Book TV's introduction.

"We were looking for something a little bit different, with more energy," said Fahle, calling the fair, "an amazing collection of people and stories in one place."
