Author Hal Goldblatt shows young readers the importance of aspiring to great deeds in his new children's book "The 'tis Bottle" (published by Archway Publishing).

The story introduces Elmer J. Schmo, the richest man in the world, who commissions a search for a rare object called the "'tis bottle." The reason for this seemingly unnecessary treasure hunt is to entertain the otherwise bored Mr. Schmo. As a reward to anyone who brings him the rare bottle, he offers a $1 million prize.

After placing an advertisement in the local newspaper, Elmer weeds through hundreds of anonymous tips until he sees a hastily scrawled message on a brown paper bag, asking Elmer if he'd ever collected 'tis bottles. Enlisting the help of the FBI and the NSA, Elmer searches for the origin of the mysterious letter.

The person they find is a reluctant hero named Just Plain Joe, a penniless man without a home or family who knows of four 'tis bottles scattered throughout the world. After Elmer dangles a $2 million reward before Just Plain Joe's eyes, the reluctant informant embarks on an adventure to find the bottles, during which he learns the quest may be much more difficult than he initially imagined.

"The 'tis Bottle" tells a lighthearted and humorous tale of what happens when two presumably dissimilar people come together to reach a common goal.

"Never give up," Goldblatt tells his readers. "There is always hope, even if you have to try 1,248,768 times."
