As time marches on, more and more Americans are turning away from Christianity. Authors Jeffery Glatus and Fletcher Roden believe they know why. Calling the epidemic a "consumer apocalypse" that threatens the very foundations of Christianity, the duo have released a new book expanding on their views, entitled "Heavenly Bills: Consumer Christianity, Your Church and You."

Designed to put the spotlight on a distorted version of Biblical Christianity that seeks to satisfy the desires of the "self" first, Glatus and Roden's book is also an examination of consumer-driven churches and their effect on the Western world.

"We ask the tough questions," says Rhoden. "It's vital to put the onus on the churches and the church-goers to adjust their behavior. We ask people - does their church truly put the Will of God above everything else? If not, it's time for a change."

Combining their meticulous research, years of first-hand experiences and scriptural references, "Heavenly Bills" is the culmination of the authors' hard work and sincere belief that consumer Christianity is doing great harm and could radically change the Christian religion.

As Glatus points out, their book is not anti-church.

"Not at all," says the author. "What we are is pro Biblical Christianity. Christian churches do not exist - and should not exist - to make people feel better or to be a social club. The purpose of the church is to glorify Christ and draw others to Him and disciple them to serve God and others. Modern mega-churches are especially guilty of watering down Christianity to make it more appealing to mass audiences. And really, the most important question that readers should ask themselves is this - who do they want to serve? Themselves ... or God?"
