HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.

Inspired by the loss of her daughter and the process of healing that came afterwards, author Delsea Flowers explores the subjects of life, death and the essence of the writer with "Gentell's Eyes" (published by Xlibris). It is the odyssey of a ghostwriter who must escape the pain of her past and death itself to pen the greatest story of her life.

Gentell is a recovering alcoholic ghost writer trying to find work. Unfortunately, she is stuck with writer's block. Gentell decides to take a trip to help clear her mind. While on her way on her journey, she is nearly involved in a tragic car accident. In that sudden moment, Gentell's whole life flashes before her eyes. The near-death experience gives her the vision to write a book based on a dramatic life seen through "Gentell's Eyes."

This journey through pain and the near-loss of her own life mirrors the author's own experiences, tapping into the most poignant parts of the human condition, where the story of "Gentell's Eyes" serves as a lens to reflect upon loss and life.
