"The Chronicles of a Crazy Chick" recounts the authors dating escapades inspired by a journal kept during her bitter divorce as advised by her therapist. After dissolving her marriage, she continued writing and recording her string of disastrous dates post-divorce. With humorous and uninhibited prose, Pittman tackles topics such as surviving a sexless relationship with a man of suspicious sexual orientation, fearing possible exposure to HIV by a former lover and dabbling with online dating.

To help women considering the online dating arena, Pittman includes the profile that she posted on dating sites. "Scores of men commented that my profile was the best that they have ever read on any dating site. Just changing the tone of my profile invited a different caliber of men, going from busboys who bombarded me with winks to investment bankers who wrote three paragraph e-mails," shares Pittman. "There's nothing wrong with clearing tables in college, but I don't think any woman wants to marry a career busboy."

"I want the words in my book to be the good girlfriend who reminds the reader that we all have moments of questionable sanity in the quest for love," explains Pittman.

The author tells women to ignore the dire dating statistics and to be a diligent dater, which will eventually lead to finding the perfect mate. Pittman tells women not to be dismayed, but to enjoy dating and to realize that every relationship will not end in matrimony. In each chapter, universal dating lessons are buried between the lines of laughter.
