Liberty University Press recently released a children's book, "Every Child is Gifted," by Joy Gorham Hervey.

Using poetry, Hervey emphasizes that all youth have talents they can use to assist others. She encourages everyone to appreciate the unique gifts and potential that children have, rather than look at their upbringing or temporary circumstances.

"Every Child is Gifted" is now available online through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

About the Author:

Joy Gorham Hervey was born and raised in Baltimore, Md. As a child, she loved to read and write.

"I remember losing myself in books," she said, "and I love to see children get excited about reading." Joy graduated early from high school and attended Harvard University, where she met her husband, Eurmon.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Joy pursued her calling as an educator, working as a teacher, principal, consultant, professor, and leader of community programs. Later, she earned a doctorate in education from Columbia Teachers College. During her research in Ghana, she met a young man who talked about how he spent his childhood taking things apart and putting them back together. This boy makes an appearance in her book, along with the author's children, Emmanuel and Trinity. Joy lives with her family in Jacksonville, Fla. In addition to reading and writing, she enjoys music and bargain hunting.
