In an effort to reach her lifetime achievements goal of "making millions of people less afraid of cancer and better prepared to deal with it" Ali Gilmore has signed on the 2nd edition of her book exclusively with Amazon Kindle and is offering both eBook editions of her inspirational cancer survival guide, free of charge in the Amazon Kindle store from now until 11:59pm PST on Sunday, January 20, 2013.

We asked Ali why and how.

"Initially, my reasoning was to clue in our Facebook followers on one of the questions/answers for the nextweekly Q&A Giveaway, 'What was the primary reason for publishing the 2nd edition of The C Card and Me?' No one has really had a chance to read the 2nd edition and I've not said much about the reasoning publicly, so I wanted to make it easy for people to access the information," Ali said.

As Ali was going through the process to publish the Kindle version she realized the two fold opportunity to clue in her followers while taking a huge bite out of her mountainous goal to "get the contents of this book into the heads and hearts of over a million people."

This week's offer isn't just for Kindle owners. Amazon has free reading apps for the Android phone or tablet, iPad, iPhone, Mac, Windows PC or tablet, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. "Amazon even has a Cloud Reader, so you can read the whole book through your web browser," Ali added.

When asked what effect she thinks this offer will have on her paperback sales Ali responded, "The paperback and the eBook are two different things. The eBook is brilliant for those who crave instant access, while other people facing cancer prefer to hold the actual book in their hands and fill in their part. It becomes a kind of talisman for them."

Ali's story about beating the odds of late stage cancer survival is steadily gaining momentum in its popularity. As Tom Pfingsten from San Diego's North County Times puts it, "It's the way she talks about the disease as a cheap, ridiculous enemy that really clicks with her ailing readers."

After Sunday, the eBooks will return to their normal price of 9.99 to the general public, however the gratis offer will extend for Amazon Prime members through the remainder of the 90 day contract.

When pressed for the reasoning behind the 2nd edition Ali smiled and said, "The hint is 'Chapter 3'. The answer will be posted on The C Card and Me Facebook page on Monday."

Ali Gilmore is a freelance photographer, singer/songwriter, geek and author of the book; The C Card and Me - How I beat stage IV cancer (to a pulp). Originally from Seattle, Washington, she now resides in the coastal town of Oceanside, California. Discover more about Ali at: http://www.aligilmore.com
