There are as many methods, practices and indices of advice on fishing as there are fishermen, but with the publication of his new book "A Proven Way to Catch Big Catfish" (published by AuthorHouse) Curt Bartmess offers a precise and honest method of landing record-setting catfish.

After years of studying fish and their habits, Bartmess is revealing many of the secrets of catching big catfish, including how to bait the hook, set the hook and best places to fish.

An excerpt from "A Proven Way to Catch Big Catfish":

"Going back to the rod and reel-you can use a fish big enough to eat as bait. Simply put the 11 degree hook through its mouth and out its gill, and then insert the hook into the meaty part of the tail, pointing the hook out of the skin. Then let down into water not over twenty inches deep and tie it to a log or strong limb that will not give. A big catfish will try to swallow your fish, only he will get caught. I know this works from experience! Oh, what a thrill to catch the big ones! Occasionally a big one may get away (hopefully not), and if so, remember this: 'Them who's got, got to lose, and them who ain't, can't!'"

Bartmess offers his advice to the weekend hobbyist. "A lot of people are weekend fishermen," he writes, "this will give them sound knowledge on how to land that fish."
