That's correct. Tomorrow is opening and Monday is press opening.

Correct. They have their opening night performance tomorrow at six followed by their party but reviews won't come out til Monday when the show "officially" opens.  I think "How to dance in Ohio" did this as well as a few other shows recently.

I'm curious. I have balcony tickets for Monday. Did they close off the balcony and move people down? The seating map is still largely empty for that day and I'm trying to figure if there's a way to be...not up there

Corey Cott was at Kelly Ripa’s show yesterday! Looks like they’re doing the media circuit and hopefully it will help generate ticket sales. I really enjoyed watching this show back in its first preview and am planning to go on Monday at its (press) opening night since tix are being sold to it.

In the interview they pretty much state this is a very 80s show from its story (inspired by John Hughes films) to obviously the music.

Looks like tonight was the Opening Night Celebration, with the official critics' opening happening on Monday.

Kinda like what Cabaret is doing. Tonight is the Gala Night, and Monday is Press Night.

Really enjoyed the show tonight. Wasn’t expecting much but was blown away by the cast. All amazing singers and high energy dancing. As someone said above, surprised they all have a six pack. It was funny and sweet with a heart. I hope (suspect) it will get good reviews (as much as Jesse Green doesn’t like a jukebox).

New York Times has assigned Elizabeth V to review.

Regardless of the review I hope this show finds its audience. All my friends who love Huey’s music and 80s movies (John Hughes) had a great time at the show.

so the NYT currently has Jesse, Elizabeth, Maya and Naveen all doing these reviews? With that roster, it would be great if they assigned two critics per show.

Elizabeth and Naveen are both freelancer, which is they both also write for The Washington Post.

Loved this, it is dumb, corny and over the top and never pretends like it is trying to be anything else.

Great performances, so much fun, any other season it would be a sleeper hit but sadly is going to get washed away in the tsunami of openings.

This will do well regionally, anywhere that does Rock of Ages or The Wedding Singer will program this for sure. 

See it if you can, a total blast of a evening and the audience ate it up
