For the tribute, each dot represents a different influential person. At a special recognition ceremony yesterday, June 21, Ilan added a 'dot' in honor of Dr. Maya Angelou at Angelou's home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. David Ilan is attempting to get a million people, each being represented by a dot, to make up the Michael Jackson tribute portrait.
