Middlebury's Town Hall Theater has gained a reputation for producing exciting plays, musicals and operas. But the show that draws the largest crowd every year is the annual flea market and antiques sale, The Fabulous Flea Market, which arrives at the theater today, September 20, from 9 am to 2 pm.

There is no admission fee to this the 7th annual "Fabulous Flea Market" extravaganza which features over 20 vendors of antiques, collectibles, artwork, pottery, and more. Returning this year is Town Hall Theater's popular jewelry table with fine and costume jewelry. Theater volunteers have been collecting donations of decorative and useful items, which fill the lobby and spill out the front entrance to the steps. Unique and surprising items appear every year.

Income from the THT booths goes to support THT performances. "Getting rid of your unused treasures is a great way to support THT. You can de-clutter your living room and help out the theater. Everybody wins," says THT executive director Douglas Anderson. "Proceeds from the THT booth go right back into funding our expansive array of programming." Town Hall Theater depends on events such as this to help support the annual operating budget, as ticket sales cover less than half of the expenses. As a venue for performances, weddings, proms, meetings, HD opera and National Theater broadcasts, THT is hub of activity that serves the Middlebury Community.
