Tony Winner Laura Benanti Set for Recurring Role on ABC's NASHVILLE

Tony Award winner Laura Benanti is heading to NASHVILLE.

According to Deadline, the stage and screen vet has booked a recurring role on the third season of ABC's country music series.

Benanti will appear on several episodes as "Sadie Stone, an up-and-coming country star who befriends Rayna (Connie Britton)."

Benanti's Broadway credits include The Sound of Music, Swing!, Into the Woods, Something Good, Nine, The Wedding Singer, Gypsy - for which she won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical - In the Next Room and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

Last year, she appeared in NBC's live presentation of The Sound of Music, starring Carrie Underwood.

Benanti's other TV credits include Law & Order: SVU, Royal Pains, Go On, The Playboy Club, Eli Stone, Starved and CBS's The Good Wife and Elementary.

Nashville also stars Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Charles Esten as Deacon Claybourne, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad and Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad.
