The Theater People Podcast Welcomes ON THE TOWN's Tony-Nominee Tony Yazbeck

On Monday, May 11 the Theater People podcast welcomes 2015 Tony-nominee, Tony Yazbeck. Currently starring in the critically acclaimed and Tony nominated Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN, Tony opens up about how the role first came to him for the 2008 Encores production, his experience with the pre-Broadway run at Barrington Stage, and how, as a true triple threat, he was particularly suited to play the role on Broadway.

Tony also reflects back on his career, which began at the age of 11 when he was cast as a Newsboy in the Arthur Laurents-directed, Tyne Daly-led 1989 production of GYPSY. He talks about his experience winning the role of Al in the 2006 Broadway revival of A CHORUS LINE, and shares how, in 2008 he finagled his way into the final callback for the Patti LuPone led production of GYPSY (also directed by Arthur Laurents), this time winning the role of Tulsa.

In just eight days, the Theater People Podcast reached its initial KickStarter campaign goal of $5,000, and is now looking to reach one and only stretch goal of $6,000. Having interviewed Broadway greats from Lin-Manuel Miranda to Laura Osnes (twice) to Celia Keenan-Bolger, the Theater People Podcast is one of the most influential and inspiring connections that many theatre fans have with their idols.
