Adults, this one isn't for you. The Canton Symphony Orchestra (CSO) kindly asks you to let the kids enjoy this one. A concert, that is.
The CSO will perform a kid-centric Kinder Concert today, April 9 at 9:30am and 10:30am. This performance includes all of the instrument families and all "kidding" aside, invites children of all ages to the program. It will be held in the Great Court at the Cultural Center for the Arts. The Kinder Concert provides young students the opportunity to attend a full orchestra performance created just for them! Excerpts from classical pieces provide an engaging backdrop to academic content woven throughout the 40-minute program. Musicians also demonstrate their individual instruments so the children can see and hear each component of the orchestra separately.Like the SymphonyLand performances, this concert also uses a book - Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman - to combine educational and musical principles. The educational concepts developed address Ohio New Learning Standards in Music, Language Arts, Social Studies and Science.Videos
