The world premiere recording of TAMAR OF THE RIVER, with music by Marisa Michelson and lyrics by Joshua H. Cohen, will be released byYellow Sound Label Tuesday, September 23, 2014, and is currently on pre-sale at Amazon.com. TAMAR OF THE RIVER was directed by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell), with choreography by Chase Brock (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Picnic). The album has been produced by Michael Croiter(Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers).

TAMAR OF THE RIVER starred Margo Seibert (Rocky) as Tamar, with Ako, Jeremy Greenbaum, Erik Lochtefeld, Mike Longo, and Vince B. Vincent, and featuring Jen Anaya, Adam Bashian, Margot Bassett, Troy Burton, Tamrin Goldberg, Aaron Komo, and Mary Kate Morrissey. For the album, they are joined by Patrick Cragin.

In a war-torn world, where East and West are divided by a River red with blood, one young woman is called to raise her voice. As Tamar sets out single-mindedly in pursuit of peace, she makes choices she struggles to justify. Must one sacrifice their moral compass in pursuit of idealistic dreams? When everyone is certain they know the truth, how do we know whose voice to trust? Inspired by the Biblical story of Tamar and Judah, Cohen and Michelson bring to life a tale that illuminates moral challenges through a score influenced by Middle Eastern, Jewish, Asian music and pre-Western chanting.

TAMAR OF THE RIVER had music direction by Matt Aument, scenic design by Brett J. Banakis, costume design by Candida K. Nichols, lighting design by Brian Tovar, and sound design by Jeremy J. Lee. The Ted & Mary Jo Shen Charitable Gift Fund provided commissioning and world premiere major support.
