TABOO 10th Anniversary Concert At 54 Below Tonight
Internationally recognized pop icon Boy George's biographical musical TABOO has had a particularly colorful history considering its original hit West End production, troubled and tumultuous 2003 Broadway bow and successful 2012 Brixton remounting and the show is now set for a splashy live New York re-evaluation and celebration tonight.
The 10th anniversary of TABOO will be celebrated in two special concerts this February at NYC cabaret hotspot 54 Below, concluding tonight.
The original Broadway production of TABOO starred Euan Morton, Raul Esparza, Liz McCartney, Jeffrey Carlson and Sarah Uriarte Berry and was produced by Rosie O'Donnell, running 100 performances on Broadway after its November 2003 opening.
While the show was not a stateside hit, the original Broadway cast recording has introduced the dynamic and compelling score to countless individuals who may not have had a chance to see the show live.
Furthermore, the success of the recent Brixton production showed strong evidence that there is still much interest for the '80s club-set biomusical, as well.
